Our three year olds are started in the Barrels and Poles. The yearlings are shown in Halter. This has proven to produce gentle horses and calmer Barrel horses. The weanlings learn to bathe, clip, load, stand cross tied, wear slinkies or blankets; stand while being braided, clipped, painted, and groomed; stand, walk or trot on a walker. They are hauled to their first show as a weanling; taught to back off the trailer and to stand tied to trailer; to lead, lead at the trot and stand square in the show arena. They are use to the farrier picking up their feet and being trimmed, having their mouth messed with while showing teeth to the judge, and when they are ready to be broke as a two year old they are usually so gentle they just walk off. They gain confidence in their handlers, become conditioned to the show environment, learn body space and beginning ground work while showing halter. By the time they move on to their barrel training their first exhibition race is no big deal due to all the handling and exposure from halter.

Our Broodmares are the most important element to building a strong successful breeding program. We have purchased quality mares with the best racing & foundation names in their bloodlines. We have also choosen our broodmares for their talent, temperaments, and abilities as a good mother. All of our broodmares are proven barrel racers and we always train our younger mares so that once they exit our broodmare program they will have a life racing, showing, or trail riding.
